-Testimonial - Jerry Brock, ENP E911 Coordinator Washington County, Florida

News Update

Recently, Washington County, Florida was fortunate enough to receive a grant from the Florida E9-1-1 Wireless Board allowing it to purchase new equipment for it's 9-1-1/Dispatch center. Being a small county with little to no funds, 9-1-1 has never been an earth shattering experience for our county. Regardless, many hours of hard work had been clocked driving the county, issuing all addresses using a GPS locator system, and centerlining all of the roads on a map. But with all this work completed, we had no way to find the people calling except to look at an old Positron IAP+ phone and see the name, address and phone number displayed on it's console.

News Update

With the money we received, I searched for the best equipment with the best maintenance turn around time, and something that could use our current mapping, personal database of addresses, and the new image software that we had recently purchased. I checked around and talked with different vendors and 9-1-1 Coordinators and chose to go with 911 Direct. They were able to use all of the mapping and address information we had already compiled, without much changing, as well as incorporate the image software.

News Update

It was a turnkey system that was installed very professionally with a lot of guidance and instruction given to me along the way of things that I had forgotten or had not considered. We now have 2 positions with new motorized work stations, Positron Power 9-1-1 and Mapping along with 4 monitors to work with at each station. The mapping also integrates into the Pictometry imaging software so that when we get a 9-1-1 call, I can click on the pin displayed and ask it to show me the EFS (Image Software Picture) and up pops a picture of the house or business in color. The system is completely Wireless E9-1-1 capable and will rebid for the location of the wireless caller as your ask it. We can also follow them live as they go down the road if they have the right phone and service. Again, we can click on the image of where they are calling from and get a color picture of what every thing around there looks like, even on the Interstate or out in a 1000 acre lake. We can see so much and do it so quickly now that it is amazing.

911 Direct has been quick to respond to all my needs and has let me play a part in the maintenance of the equipment. They have even showed up when they were over in the area just to look at things and make sure that everything was working properly. The entire experience has been a positive one because Robert from 911 Direct has bent over backwards to make things work and to help me out. I wish all vendors were as caring once something was installed and not talking hours and money every time a fuse is blown.

Also, we are a totally independent system only relying on Intrado to feed us the ANI/ALI stream. Other than that, I am totally reliable on 911 Direct for all maintenance and support of both computer and phone problems.
